Dollhouse Pictures!

Hey!
My Dad and I finally finished the structure of my dollhouse. I am so excited and cannot wait to paint, carpet, furnish, and decorate. If you have any questions, leave a comment.

  1. What color do you plan on painting the walls?

    1. I am going to be using a bunch of leftover paint that we have so every room is going to be a different color. My plan is tentative but I think the kitchen will be turquoise, the bathroom light green, the living room light pink, the dinning room blue and light yellow, and the bedroom / closet (attic) two shades of purple. Oh, and the outside and roof will be brown. I can't wait to get started priming so I can get to some color!

  2. It looks awesome already! If I wanted a doll house, do you recommend building it myself with my Dad's help? Like, how hard was it?

    1. I would totally recommend building a dollhouse with your dad if he is up for it! My dad and I had a lot of fun! The work its self wasn't to hard, but my dad has been doing carpentry work as a hobby for a while. It took us about 20 hours to get this far. So about 3 full Saturdays of work. It was well worth it though. Just a tip: plan out your design and measure everything! We ended up having to make my dollhouse it 2 pieces because it wouldn't fit down out basement stairs otherwise :) If you have any questions on how we built the house or what materials we used, please leave another comment! I wish you the best of luck building!

    2. I'll have to ask him. :) Also, just estimating, how much do you think the materials cost? Thanks for the tips!

    3. The wood, hinges, casters(wheels), and screw type stuff cost around $150. Maybe a little less. That may seem pretty expensive, but it is a lot cheaper that buying a dollhouse, if you are willing to do the work. It could probably be done for $100 or so if you didn't do an attic. - Which is less than an AG doll costs.
      P.S. I hope your dad agrees! :)
